Started flying in the mid 70s. Only got into contest flying in 2022 at the NW regionals where I’ve done well in scale. This year was my first time to the nationals, with a 2,126-mile drive one way! And it was an incredible experience, and it would have been so even without a first and a second in scale! Met many new people, made personal connections with people I’d only known online, people I now consider true friends. The entire experience, even the incredible rainstorm on Saturday with 3 inches of rain in 3 hours, was something I’ll never forget and exceeded every expectation I had in every way. Already working on next year’s project!
