I was born in Florida and have traveled around the world and like most of us, we all started flying RC aircraft at a young age. So growing up in Florida we always had lots of activities to do and living near Navy, Army, Air Force bases and Cape Canaveral instilled a love of flying. I would ride my bicycle to the local RC field just to watch until I saved up enough money to buy my first Cox plane. It was a great time and great memories.

However, I had to stop flying for quite awhile, as I had become a Marine right out of High School, needless to say for me, I didn’t have many opportunities to fly as I was busy being a Marine and as I was overseas there wasn’t any room to bring any RC planes.

After I retired from active duty and feeling like a fish out of water. My wife surprised me with a HobbyZone Champ. So I reconnected with a hobby that I love doing. There are other veterans at our club The Keystone cloud busters and flying has helped me in more ways than I can count. It’s been a big help in dealing with my PTSD, and having amazing friends that love to fly. We have done flying events at the local airport and for the high school. Being retired let’s me fly seven days a week, depending on the weather. I’m lucky to have this opportunity to continue to do something that I love.
